2023/24 Summer Series Round 2 – Matarangi Beach, Coromandel

We are excited to announce the second round of the 2023-24 Summer Series on Sunday 14 January at Matarangi Beach. This stunning beach on the Coromandel Coast has it all; a long surf beach, perfect for swimming and a big sheltered harbour behind. Vehicles are allowed on the beach. Bring a gazebo and pick up a tasty lunch from the bakery at the small shopping centre up the road.
Launching is either from the main boat ramp in the harbour or off the beach at the race venue. Access to the beach is via Goldfields Drive and Bluff Road. Beach trolleys are recommended.
Prizegiving will take place at the Fire Station at the end of racing. Be prepared to come along and enjoy refreshments from the bar and some social time.

So throw open the shed, grab your ski, and come racing. We look forward to seeing you all there! Bring your friends and family (and don’t forget the dog)!
Accommodation is very limited as it is the peak of the Summer holidays, so book early and be prepared to stay in Tairua or Whitianga as an alternative.
Registration
Register by January 11 and pay only $120. Registrations on the day will cost $150.00.
Membership
Membership fees are due at the start of the new race season. Your very first race event with JSRNZ is complimentary, but after that, the cost of membership is only $20 for Individuals and $30 for Family membership (to qualify for a Family membership both members must reside at the same address).
Race Licence
Unless you’re brand new to racing, you’ll need an Annual Race Licence at the cost of $150.
New Riders
New Riders are very welcome! You will be fully supported by experienced riders from beginning to end. Before competing, new riders should familiarise themselves with the class their ski qualifies for. You’ll find everything you need to know in our race information.
Rules
All riders MUST read and comply with our Race Rules. Novice Riders please pay particular attention to Supplementary Rule 301.01.17 – In local events all new riders and those who have competed for less than two years, will compete as a novice, at a maximum competition level of GP2.
